Spring break of sophomore year in high school I went on the best vacation of my life to Aruba. Excitement filled my body at the thought of going to a new place that is outside of the country. The plane ride went by fast as I had the most amazing views of bright blue water with vibrant green islands from above. As I walked off the plane, I could feel hot air cling to my skin as if I had opened a hot oven.
The smell of the ocean caught my attention. It smelled fresh, the beach was full of white sand that tickled my toes and crystal-clear water where little fish were swimming by.
I went snorkeling out in the middle of the ocean with no land in sight. I saw a sunken World War II ship that was so large it made the people swimming next to it look like toys. As soon as I put my head into the water there were so many colorful fish in front of my eyes. I reached my hand out and the fish would come up to me and nibble on my fingers as if I had a treat for them to eat.
Aruba is a special place where every sense is awakened.
