Why I Picked Drake
I chose to attend Drake University because I was looking for a smaller college that had that certain campus feel, with an open well-kept campus, I knew Drake was for me. Since Drake’s class sizes are smaller it provides me with personal connections with my professors and a better understanding of the classes I’m taking. I am in the School of Journalism and Mass Communications and am majoring in Digital Media Production with a concentration in social sciences.
In my first year at Drake, I felt that I was at home by how comfortable I felt in my classes and on campus in general. The people and staff at Drake put in the effort to make sure everyone is adjusting well which is something I noticed right away. The friendships I have formed are unmatched, I could not be happier than I am at Drake.

Digital Media Production Major
As a Digital Media Production major, I will develop the skills to use a multimedia palette of video, audio, still photography, and text across a variety of platforms, including broadcast video and audio, web, tablets, and smart phones. From concept through distribution, I will learn every aspect of the digital media production industry.
Also, I will get to continue practicing and learning more digital photography skills along with Adobe applications that go into editing my photos.
I have a concentration in social sciences, which is the branch of science devoted to the study of societies and the relationships among individuals within those societies. Some examples of classes I have taken for my concentration are; Psychology, Sociology, Cultural Anthropology, Politics, etc.
